APSSB CHSL Recruitment 2026 - Overview

The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has officially released the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination (CHSLE) 2026. A total of 207 vacancies have been announced for various Group C posts under the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Online applications are being accepted from 20 July 2026 to 10 August 2026 (until 05:00 PM). This is a golden opportunity for Class 12 pass candidates who are looking for stable government employment in Arunachal Pradesh.

Vacancy Breakup for APSSB CHSL 2026

The recruitment drive covers 9 different posts. The post-wise vacancy distribution is as follows:

  • Agriculture Field Assistant (Jr) - Agriculture Department - 16 Posts
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO) - Directorate of Medical Education - 7 Posts
  • Field Assistant - Land Management - 13 Posts
  • Fishery Demonstrator - Fisheries - 15 Posts
  • Junior Secretariat Assistant - Secretariat Administration - 3 Posts
  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC) - Various Departments - 56 Posts
  • Record Keeper/Record Clerk - TRIHMS - 4 Posts
  • Stockman - Animal Husbandry & Veterinary - 89 Posts

Thus, the total number of vacancies stands at 207.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the post-wise educational qualifications and age limits.

Educational Qualification:

  • LDC, DEO & Junior Secretariat Assistant: Class 12 pass with typing speed of 35 words per minute and a 6-month Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized institute.
  • Record Keeper/Record Clerk: Class 12 pass with 1-year Diploma in Computer Application.
  • Agriculture Field Assistant (Jr), Lab Assistant & Stockman: Class 12 pass in Science stream.
  • Fishery Demonstrator: Class 12 Science with Biology.
  • Field Assistant: Class 12 with Mathematics or Geography, or Class 12 pass with a Survey course from a Government-recognized ITI.

Age Limit (as on closing date):

  • Record Keeper/Record Clerk: 18 to 28 years
  • LDC, DEO, Junior Secretariat Assistant & Agriculture Field Assistant: 18 to 32 years
  • Field Assistant, Fishery Demonstrator, Lab Assistant & Stockman: 18 to 35 years

Age relaxation will be provided as per the rules applicable to reserved categories.

Application Fee

  • APST Candidates: ₹150
  • Unreserved Candidates: ₹200
  • PwBD Candidates: Exempted

Selection Process

The selection will be done in two stages:

  1. Stage-I: Written Examination (Objective type MCQs)
  2. Stage-II: Skill Test (Typing Test) for LDC, DEO and Junior Secretariat Assistant posts only (Qualifying in nature)

Exam Pattern for Written Examination

The written exam will be conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode. There will be 100 objective questions carrying 200 marks. The duration is 2 hours. There is no negative marking. The subject-wise distribution is provided below:

The General Awareness section will cover Current Affairs, History, Geography, Polity, Constitution, Environment, Sports, Science and topics related to Arunachal Pradesh. The Reasoning section will include Analogies, Series, Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Classification and Spatial Reasoning. The Numerical Ability section will cover Simplification, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Interest, LCM/HCF, Data Interpretation and Decimals. The English section will test Grammar, Vocabulary, Synonyms-Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases, Error Detection, Fill in the Blanks, Voice, Narration and Reading Comprehension.

Exam Centres

Candidates can select three exam centres in order of preference from the following list: Bomdila, Aalo, Ziro, Changlang, Roing, Seppa, Itanagar Capital Region, Tezu, Tawang, Longding, Pasighat, Papum Pare, Namsai, Khonsa and Yingkiong.
