Punjab PTI Teacher Recruitment 2026 Withdrawn

The Education Recruitment Directorate, Punjab has withdrawn the previously announced recruitment for 2,000 Physical Training Instructor (PTI) Teachers under the elementary cadre. The withdrawal was communicated through a public notice dated 03 August 2026. As a result, candidates should not treat the earlier application schedule as active and should not make any fresh payment or application against the withdrawn advertisement.

The recruitment had originally been announced for 2,000 PTI Teacher posts. Candidates who had already submitted their applications are not required to submit another application under this recruitment. The department has stated that the application fee paid by eligible applicants will be refunded to the bank account details provided at the time of online registration.

The withdrawn recruitment carried a total of 2,000 PTI Teacher vacancies. The earlier distribution included General, SC, BC, Ex-servicemen, Sports, Persons with Disabilities, Freedom Fighter and EWS categories. Since the advertisement has now been withdrawn, these vacancies should not be considered available for fresh applications. Candidates should wait for a new recruitment notice if the department announces the posts again.

The earlier application window was scheduled from 01 August 2026 to 31 August 2026. These dates no longer represent an active recruitment opportunity because the advertisement has been withdrawn. Eligibility Mentioned in the Withdrawn Recruitment

The earlier recruitment required candidates to have passed 10+2 along with at least a two-year diploma or certificate in Physical Education such as D.P.Ed. or C.P.Ed. The minimum age was 18 years and the maximum age was 37 years, with the stated age reference date of 01 January 2025. The earlier conditions also provided specified relaxation for eligible Punjab SC/BC candidates, certain government employees and eligible physically handicapped candidates domiciled in Punjab.

Application Fee Refund

Candidates who paid the fee under the withdrawn recruitment are entitled to a refund according to the withdrawal notice. The earlier fee structure listed Rs. 2,000 for General and other applicable categories, Rs. 1,000 for SC/BC candidates and no fee for eligible self Ex-servicemen. The refund is to be made to the bank account information supplied during the online application process.

Earlier Selection Process

The withdrawn recruitment had proposed a selection system combining a written examination with sports achievement weightage, subject to qualification in a Physical Eligibility Test. The written component carried 70 marks and sports achievement carried 30 marks, making the merit calculation 100 marks. The Physical Eligibility Test was qualifying in nature, with candidates required to clear three out of five specified physical components.

The listed physical components included a 30-metre flying start, standing broad jump, shuttle run, bend and reach, and a 1600-metre run. Separate qualifying standards were provided for male and female candidates. Because the recruitment has been withdrawn, these standards should be treated only as details of the previous advertisement and not as confirmed requirements for a future recruitment.

Punjab PTI Teacher Salary

The earlier recruitment specified a fixed monthly remuneration of Rs. 29,200 for the PTI Primary Cadre post. The stated conditions indicated that allowances would not be applicable during the probation period, which was specified as three years. Pay after probation would be governed by the applicable service rules.

Candidates who had already applied should retain their application details and monitor the bank account provided during registration for the refund.
