ISRO SAC Exam Date 2026 Released
The Indian Space Research Organisation – Space Applications Centre (ISRO SAC) has officially declared the exam date for Scientist/Engineer recruitment under Advt. No. SAC:01:2026. The Computer Based Test (CBT) is scheduled to be conducted on 30 July 2026. A total of 49 vacancies have been notified for the posts of Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ and ‘SD’. Candidates who have submitted their applications can now download the official exam date notice from the SAC website.
This recruitment drive is being conducted for multiple disciplines including RF & Microwave, Wireless Communication, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Civil, Agriculture, Statistics, Oceanography, Marine Biology, Atmospheric Science, and more. The selection procedure includes a written test and/or interview followed by document verification. The appointment will be made at various ISRO/SAC centres across India.
Vacancy Details
A total of 49 posts are filled under the Unreserved category. The initial breakdown is as follows:
- Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ – 4 Posts
- Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ – 45 Posts
These posts are distributed across different disciplines and centres such as SAC Ahmedabad, VSSC, NRSC, and NESAC.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification and age limit are described below:
- For SD Posts: PhD in relevant discipline with ME/MTech (60%) and BE/BTech (65%) is required. Age limit is 18-35 years.
- For SC Posts (ME/MTech based): Master’s degree in relevant engineering with 60% marks and Bachelor’s degree with 65% marks. Age limit is 18-30 years.
- For SC Posts (MSc based): MSc with 60% marks and Bachelor’s degree with 65% marks. Age limit is 18-28 years.
Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
Selection Process
The selection of Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ will be based on a written test (50% weightage) followed by a personal interview (50% weightage). For Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’, shortlisting is done on merit and selection is based entirely on interview performance. All candidates must qualify in each stage to be considered for the final merit list.
Exam Pattern
For posts with code 04–11, the written exam is divided into three parts – Part A (Discipline MCQ of 80 marks), Part B (Aptitude/Reasoning of 20 marks) and Part C (Descriptive of 20 marks). For posts code 12–16, the exam contains Part A of 60 marks and Part B of 20 marks with no descriptive section. Negative marking is applicable only in Part A at the rate of 1/3rd of the allotted marks.
The qualifying marks for UR candidates are 50% in each part and 60% overall. For reserved categories, the qualifying marks are 40% in each part and 50% overall. Candidates must also secure the minimum qualifying marks in the interview.
Salary Structure
Selected candidates will be paid in the Level 10 pay scale (₹56,100–₹1,77,500) for Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ and Level 11 (₹67,100–₹2,08,700) for Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’. In addition, DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other benefits as per government rules will be provided.
Application Fee
The application fee for all categories is fixed at ₹750. Fee payment is accepted online only.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should apply online through the official SAC/ISRO website before the last date. The process involves registration, filling the application form, uploading scanned documents, paying the application fee and submitting the form. Take a printout of the submitted form for future reference.
Exam Centres
The CBT will be conducted in 18 cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi and Thiruvananthapuram. ISRO may change the centre at its discretion.
