Role Overview

The Territory Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies within an assigned geographical area to drive growth for HUL’s brands. This role involves managing distributor relationships, achieving sales targets, and leading a team of sales representatives. As a Territory Manager, you will ensure that HUL products are effectively promoted, distributed, and sold across the territory, making a direct impact on business expansion and market penetration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies tailored to the territory to meet sales and distribution goals.
  • Distributor Management: Build and maintain relationships with key distributors and channel partners to ensure efficient product availability and delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate a team of sales representatives, ensuring alignment with HUL’s goals and values.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Sales Performance Tracking: Set targets, monitor sales performance, and implement actions to address any shortfalls in sales.
  • Brand Promotion: Promote HUL’s products by organizing promotional activities and improving product visibility in the market.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations and prepare regular reports on territory performance.

Skills and Competencies

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to guide, coach, and inspire the sales team.
  • Analytical Ability: Skill in analyzing market data, sales reports, and consumer behavior to make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective distributor and client management.

Qualifications

  • Education: MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in sales management, with previous FMCG experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and regional languages is an advantage.
