Role Overview
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the sales strategy, operations, and growth within a designated area. As an ASM, you will drive sales targets, manage distributor relationships, coach sales teams, and develop strategies to enhance market penetration for HUL’s products. This role offers an excellent platform for seasoned sales professionals looking to expand their careers in the FMCG sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet area targets, including growth in market share and revenue.
- Team Management: Lead, motivate, and monitor a team of sales representatives to achieve area sales objectives.
- Distributor & Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors and retailers in the area.
- Market Intelligence & Analysis: Collect and analyze data on market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to refine sales tactics.
- Inventory Management: Ensure adequate inventory levels and efficient distribution, coordinating with logistics and warehousing teams.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Generate accurate sales forecasts and reports to provide insights into area performance and areas for improvement.
- Training & Development: Mentor and develop sales teams to enhance their skills, productivity, and sales effectiveness.

Qualifications
- Education: MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years in sales or marketing roles, with experience in managing teams; FMCG experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.
- Languages: Fluency in English and regional languages is an advantage.
