Indian Oil Corporation Limited has announced a major executive recruitment drive for 2026 with 470 vacancies across engineering, marketing, law, quality control and diploma-based disciplines. Separate opportunities are available for Marketing Officer and Law Officer positions.

Grade A0 includes Assistant Quality Control Officer positions for candidates with the required chemistry qualification. Grade E0 includes Diploma Engineer vacancies in Electrical, Mechanical and Safety disciplines. Category-wise vacancies include 213 posts for UR, 43 for EWS, 112 for OBC-NCL, 71 for SC and 31 for ST candidates.

Educational Qualification

For Graduate Engineer positions, candidates generally need a full-time regular B.E., B.Tech or equivalent qualification in the relevant engineering discipline with at least 65% marks. The minimum qualifying percentage is reduced to 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates where applicable. Marketing Officer applicants require a two-year full-time MBA or PGDBA with Marketing Management specialization, while Law Officer candidates need graduation along with a three-year LLB or five-year integrated LLB from a recognized institution.

For Assistant Quality Control Officer, candidates need a full-time M.Sc. in Chemistry in an eligible specialization with the prescribed marks. Diploma Engineer applicants require a full-time three-year diploma in the relevant engineering discipline. Certain positions also require post-qualification work experience, including the Law Officer and Assistant Quality Control Officer positions.

Age Limit

The upper age limit varies according to the position. Graduate Engineer and Diploma Engineer applicants generally have an upper age limit of 26 years. The limit is 28 years for Marketing Officer and 30 years for Law Officer and Assistant Quality Control Officer. Age is calculated with reference to 1 July 2026. Relaxation and revised date-of-birth criteria apply to reserved categories and eligible PwBD candidates as prescribed in the recruitment notification.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of a Computer-Based Test followed by Group Discussion or Group Task and Personal Interview for the applicable posts. The CBT carries the major share of the final selection weightage. According to the available recruitment details, CBT contributes 85%, Group Discussion and Group Task contribute 5%, and the Personal Interview contributes 10%.

Candidates must satisfy the minimum qualifying requirements in the individual CBT sections as well as the overall examination. The prescribed minimum percentages vary according to category. IOCL CBT Exam Pattern

Section B contains 50 questions based on the domain knowledge relevant to the applied discipline. Each question carries one mark and 0.25 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
